This Privacy Policy explains how Pharmacys.org ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use the Pharmacy Academy platform at academy.pharmacys.org. We comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who We Are
Pharmacys.org is the data controller for personal data collected through this Platform. For our full contact details, please see our Regulatory / Imprint page.
2. Data We Collect
We collect information you provide when registering (name, email address, professional role, GPhC number where provided), course completion and progress data, payment information (processed securely by Stripe — we do not store card details), and technical data (IP address, browser type, usage data).
3. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used to provide and manage your account and course access, process payments, send course-related communications, generate certificates of completion, and improve the Platform. For full details on how we use assessment data specifically, see our Data & Assessment Use page.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal data on the basis of contract performance (to deliver the services you purchase), legitimate interests (platform improvement and security), and consent (where you have opted in to marketing communications).
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with trusted service providers necessary to operate the Platform (including Stripe for payment processing) under appropriate data processing agreements.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Course completion records and certificates are retained for a minimum of 7 years to support professional development records.
7. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or port your personal data, and to object to processing. To exercise any right, contact us. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the ICO at ico.org.uk.
8. Cookies
For information about the cookies we use, please see our Cookies Policy.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. We will notify registered users of material changes by email.
